Selena Orly is a China expert with multilingual and multinational learning, teaching and professional experience—in Europe, Israel, mainland China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Australia. She holds a BA (in Chinese language) and MA (centered on modern Chinese society) from Belgarde University, Serbia and a PhD in Modern China Studies from the University of Hong Kong. Her current-China-focused postdoctoral degree was completed at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.
Apart from the extensive academic lecturing on various aspects of modern and current China at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, most recently (2021-2024) Selena held an expert position at the Israeli Embassy in Beijing, acting as the Advisor on Chinese Internal Affairs and Innovation Cooperation.
