In this conceptualisation, we consider two dominant trajectories of agri-food transformation: agroecology, which aims to maximise the use of ecological processes in the functioning of agro-ecosystems and is based on local farmers' knowledge, and sustainable intensification, which aims to 'do more with less' by using inputs and resources more efficiently, mostly based on technological innovation.
The table focuses on the implications of the two approaches in different dimensions of food systems, the feedback loops show examples of reinforcing dynamics leading to potential lock-ins in one of the models, and the scales attempt to map current trends in Czech agri-food policies.
