About the project
The project Psychosocial Support for Schools in the South of Ukraine responds to the severe impact of the war on education and mental health in the Odesa, Mykolaiv, and especially Kherson regions. Its aim is to mitigate the immediate effects of the war on teachers and students while also supporting the long-term development of schools and the recovery of the education system.
The project involves 60 schools in which school teams are being formed and methodologically supported to develop strategies for creating a safe and stimulating environment for both students and teachers. A strong emphasis is also placed on communication with parents and their active involvement. The project includes individual and group psychological counselling for teachers, focusing on stress management, burnout prevention, and strengthening well-being.
The project is implemented by the Association for International Affairs in cooperation with the Odesa Academy of Continuing Education, the Kherson Academy of Continuing Education, and the Mykolaiv Institute for In-Service Teacher Training. Academic guidance is provided by experts from the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University. The project runs in 2025–2026.
