The Arctic region is, in recent years, receiving global attention, especially due to global warming. With the discovery of vast oil and gas reserves and the ice crust melting, making a new extremely efficient route for ships, the area around the North Pole is becoming an important factor in forming NATO defence policy for the future. Russia is quietly militarizing its abandoned bases from the Soviet era and building new ones, on the other hand NATO is lingering. It is now upon our ambassadors to find a common ground a reach consensus to solve the pressing issue on time.
