How does the new European Commission work? Members of the Network of Women met with Lucie Šestáková, Head of Jozef Síkela’s cabinet

With the establishment of the new European Commission at the beginning of December last year, several Czech women and men diplomats have made their way into the cabinets of the new commissioners. Jozef Síkela became Commissioner for International Partnerships. What are the new Commissioner's priorities? And what does cooperation with other Commissioners and other European institutions look like?
Members of the Network of Women in Czech Foreign, European and Security Policy discussed these and other questions with Lucie Šestáková, Head of Jozef Síkela’s cabinet. At the February meeting, traditionally held at the residence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Prague, the women discussed, among other things, the Global Gateway programme, which is one of the priorities of Síkela’s cabinet.
Lucie Šestáková spoke about the need for active cooperation of all EU member states in the development policy-making process. She also addressed the question of the EU’s response to the new US administration’s steps in regards to development aid.
