Zora Hesová

Profile

Zora Hesová was a Research Fellow of AMO Research Center in the areas of Muslim integration in Europe, secularism, and religious movements.

She completed her bachelor’s degree in political science at Sciences Po in Toulouse, France, and her master’s degree in philosophy and Islamic studies at the Free University in Berlin. She studied Russian at the Moscow RGGU and Arabic at Damascus University. She obtained a Ph.D. in Islamic philosophy at the University of Sarajevo. She was a member of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft project Lebensformen-Lebenswissen and was a Research Fellow at New York University. She lectured at the Europa-Universität Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder and at Charles University in Prague.  She is currently staff member at the Institute for Political Theory at Faculty of Arts, Charles University. She has cooperated with AMO since 2010. Between 2011 and 2015, she was one of the coordinators of the international projects of AMO in Egypt. She also led projects on Islam in Europe, migration and Islam etc. This profile hasn’t been updated since 31. 08. 2019.
