Profile

Michal Beneš is a Research Fellow at AMO focusing on hybrid threats, China, and international security. He also specializes in Israel-Palestine issues, strategic communication, and select EU policies.

He holds Master’s degrees in International Relations and Development from Aalborg University (Denmark) and China and International Relations from the University of International Relations (China). He completed his Bachelor’s degree in International Relations at the University of West Bohemia. During his studies, he undertook academic stays in the Netherlands, Kyrgyzstan, and Indonesia.

Currently, he heads the Creators and Online Media Association, representing independent Czech media personalities, and works as a security analyst. In the past, he managed PR at the non-profit organization CARE, worked for the think tanks EUROPEUM and the Institute of International Relations on the Prague European Summit conference, and briefly worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also lived in Brussels, where he worked for POLITICO and contributed to the founding of the Central European security platform, the European Security Journal.

He is an alumnus of several prestigious international initiatives, such as the New Security Leaders (Warsaw Security Forum), Future European Leaders Forum (Prague European Summit), School of Political Studies (Council of Europe) or School of Economy and Law of China (University of Warsaw).
