Kateřina Velíšková is an AMO Research Fellow. She focuses on international migration, particularly in connection with humanitarian aid, development cooperation and the regional context of the Middle East.
She is the regional manager for the Middle East at Caritas Czech Republic, leading humanitarian programs in Iraq, Syria, and Turkey. She completed Migration Studies at the University of Oxford, where she explored the intersection of migration policies with foreign humanitarian aid. She also studied Israeli Studies, Politics, and Society at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and obtained a bachelor's degree in Middle Eastern Studies at SOAS, University of London. She previously coordinated development programs in Georgia and Mongolia at Caritas Czech Republic and served as the Acting Country Director of Caritas Czech Republic in Mongolia. She also worked in the Varianty Educational Programme of People in Need.
