Profile

Anna Filipi is an AMO Research Fellow specializing in the politics of the Middle East with special focus on Syria.

Anna is a PhD student at the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at the Faculty of Arts, CU, where she previously completed her Master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies. She is also a graduate of a Bachelor of Arts program of the same name at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Throughout her studies, she spent a term in Amman, Jordan, studying media Arabic and the Levantine dialect, which she continues to study to this day. Her main focus lies in the current political and social situation in Syria, the status of minorities in the Middle East, political tools of authoritarian regimes, and Czech-Israeli relations.
