Czech Economic Convergence: Glass Ceiling

Briefing paper of Kryštof Kruliš deals with causes of stalled Czech economy. The Czech GDP per capita stays roughly at the level of 80 % of the EU and cannot progress significantly further. Kruliš blames the frequent change of governments, lack of lasting structural reforms or unfinished modern infrastructure network.

This briefing paper was supported by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in the framework of the project Raising media awareness on the EU economic agenda on the occasion of the lunch with Radek Špicar, Vice-President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic.
