Working lunch of Czech journalists and experts with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the European Union Martin Povejšil realized in the frame of project Raising media awareness on the EU economic agenda.
The meeting was held under Chatham House Rules for the political issues and with free quotations on the economic issues.
Principal conclusions and findings:
- The AMO briefing paper prepared for the meeting focused on the new strategic document of the Czech government for its EU policy, together with its priorities and the activity of European institutions in the area of those priorities.
- The opening speech by Mr. Povejšil was focused on evaluation of the almost one year anniversary of the new European Parliament and its collaboration with the new European Commission and the President of the European Council.
- The following debate between Mr. Povejšil and the journalists included such actual topics as the migration quotas, Brexit, situation of Greece in Eurozone and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. The discussion offered an insight into the Czech position as well as well informed opinions on the positions of other EU countries and EU institutions on the discussed issues.
