The System of the Local Self-Governments in Poland

The research paper written by the Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation (PAUCI) focuses on the Polish experience with the public administration reform. In particular, it deals with the decentralization reforms in Poland after 1989 and discusses territorial division and organization of local governments, competencies of self-governments, local finances, and external control and supervision of local self-governance.
The research paper was prepared in the framework of the project Public Administration Reform in Visegrad Countries: Lessons Learned for Belarus and Ukraine supported by the International Visegrad Fund.
