Project partners from the Czech Republic and Slovakia invite interested candidates from Belarus and Ukraine to apply for a one-week study trip to the Czech Republic which will take place in September 23-27, 2013 (6 participants altogether, 3 from Belarus and 3 from Ukraine).

The goal is to provide participants with an opportunity to get better understanding of public administration reform (PAR) in two of Visegrad countries (V4) and to point out on examples of good practices while not avoiding mentioning the obstacles of the reform process. The group taking part in the study trip will also have a chance to discuss the issue with their counterparts from Belarus/Ukraine and from V4.

Programmme

Meetings with representatives, officials, experts from municipal and regional bodies, state agencies, local unions and associations; state ministries; parliamentary and senatorial committees, think-tanks/NGOs etc.

Participant’s profile

Motivated professionals with permanent residence in Belarus or Ukraine, deeply interested in PAR who work in politics, public administration, academia or the non-governmental sector; preferably for full-time. The applicants should have at least 5 years (for Belarusian applicants) and 8 years (for Ukrainian applicants) work experience with public administration issues. Working knowledge of English is not necessary (the programme will be translated into Russian). Selected participants are expected to elaborate concrete policy recommendations based on their participation in study trip.

Costs and budget

The organizer covers international travel costs, accommodation, boarding, and visa costs where necessary.

Applications and deadline

Applicants are asked:

  • to send their professional and updated CV in a table form (in English/Russian, 2 pages at the max.) at publicadmin@amo.cz with “Application for study trip of [your name]”  in the subject line by Friday, August 30;
  • to fill in Application Form (available at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CZtrip) by Friday, August 30.

An independent bilateral jury will select the successful applicants. Please note that only selected candidates will be contacted by Tuesday, September 3.
