Debates on issues related to foreign, European and security policy are often attended to a greater extent by male experts. Despite considerable progress in recent decades, the representation of women’s expert voices is not yet sufficient and equitable. Moreover, not only is the representation of female diplomats insufficient, but gender perspectives are also not sufficiently taken into account in foreign policy-making. Since 2017, the Association for International Affairs has therefore been undertaking a series of activities to ensure that women play a more active role in shaping international relations and that a gender lens is applied in foreign policy-making.
Promoting higher representation of women in Czech expert and public debate on social issues through a database of female experts, which increases their visibility, makes them easier to find, and encourages them to present their expertise.
