The conference focuses on the willingness and the ability of the EU member states to create a common European strategy towards China and its increasing influence in not only economic realm. The goal of the conference is not only to assess the current state of EU-China relations, but also to contribute to formulating the EU-wide strategy.

Does China play “divide and rule” strategy in Europe? Does 16+1 platform serve as the diving tool? What should Europe and its institutions do for formulating and enacting a truly unified strategy on China? What approach has been taken by various member states so far and could any of them serve as an inspiration? Can the goal of a harmonized foreign and security policy towards China be achieved without antagonizing China and harming economic cooperation?

You are welcome to participate in this exclusive meeting of China experts and contribute with your questions and comments to the Conference outputs and recommendations which could pave the way for searching for a unified approach to China in the European Union.
