Members of the Women’s Network Discussed Resilience with Christiaan Rebergen and Veronika Víchová

When societies face multiple simultaneous crises and shocks, what makes some countries and societies better able to absorb them than others? In an era of escalating geopolitical tensions, the climate crisis, and a radical transformation of the digital space, resilience is becoming a key topic.

This was precisely the topic of the debate of the Women Network on Czech Foreign, European, and Security Policy with Christiaan Rebergen, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, and Veronika Víchová, analyst at the Centre for an Informed Society.

We explored the importance of preparing for potential crises and systematically building resilience grounded in data, at both the societal and personal levels. Another key topic was finding the balance between national security, freedom of speech, and free access to information. During the debate, we also addressed the role of the private sector in national security. One of the recurring central points of the discussion was the emphasis on effective communication, both across individual government sectors and toward the public and the private sector.

The meeting was organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Prague.
