How to Make Our Cities Resilient and Fair for Everyone: Climate Mainstreaming in Cities

Cities are increasingly expected to embed climate thinking into everyday decisions, budgets, and services — not just policy documents. But how do you ensure it doesn't leave vulnerable groups behind?

Cities are increasingly expected to respond to climate change not only through strategies and plans, but also through everyday decision- making, urban planning, budgeting, public services, and institutional cooperation.

This event focuses on how climate mainstreaming can move from policy documents into practical implementation across departments, sectors, and levels of governance. It also highlights that climate
change and climate policies affect different groups of residents in different ways. For this reason, climate mainstreaming must be not only effective, but also socially fair, inclusive, and attentive to vulnerable or less-heard groups.

The event brings together experts and practitioners from across Europe to exchange experiences, identify key challenges, and discuss practical solutions for more resilient and fair cities.

The event is an expert conference. In case of your interest in attending, contact Václav Kříž via email (vaclav.kriz@amo.cz)
