CGYPP-2014-Berlin--060

During Friday the group of 12 young Czechs and Germans experienced debates and visits with focus on strategies and measures in named fields; how does Berlin’s regional government incorporate European legislature in the field of gender or ethnic diversity; the cooperation and day-to-day business of German Charta of Diversity with German companies; or coping with age and ethnic diversity with Berlin Transport Company. The day was finished by theatre drama Cherry Orchid in Max Gorki Theatre, theatre which is famous as the one with the most diverse ensemble in Berlin.

The second part of the seminar emphasized the group as such; meaning and understanding of diversity in working and personal life as well as the issue of sustainable network constituting. The discussion within the group has showed different backgrounds of participants and their different views on diversity. The top event of the seminar’s second part was a debate with the first Berlin commissioner for immigrants Barbara John who gave her insights into integration policy development since the 1980.

The first CGYPP seminar focused mainly on issues connected with gender and ethnic diversity. The most discussed topics tackled the public administration sphere and the role of public institutions in promoting the issues connected with diversity as it is widely understood.
