Speaking Politics: Communication, Responsibility and Opportunities in the Media Society

Today, politics is unthinkable without the media. Politicians seem to be increasingly dependent on media coverage. Journalists therefore play an important role in political communication. However, this role is changing. The established media are beginning to feel the pressure of growing competition. Internet allows amateur journalists to reach a larger audience via blogs and social networks. These alternative media create new opportunities for civil society. Who is responsible for political agenda-setting today? And how does this omnipresent mediatization affect political issues?
