A close seminar organized within the Challenging the Czech Tales on European Policies supported by the Open Society Foundations.
Czech European policy differs much from the European mainstream as well as from the praxis of the Central and Eastern European countries. Other Member States may easily lose what is the Czech raison d’etat when faced with events like the fall of the government in the middle of the EU Council Presidency, additional demands for the signing of the Lisbon Treaty or refusal of the Fiscal Compact. How is this perceived by those who inform about the Czech political reality in important European countries? How difficult is it to interpret it to their public and what kind of reactions do they encounter?
