Tomáš Kaválek was Research Fellow of AMO Research Center focusing on the Middle East and North Africa.
He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University in Brno. He obtained his master degree in the field of Security and Strategic Studies at the Faculty of Social Studies in 2014. During his bachelor studies, he spent one semester abroad at Marmara Üniversitesi in Istanbul.
In 2015, he was a visiting researcher at the Marmara University Research Center for International Relations (MURCIR) in Turkey and also was an intern at the conflict-prevention organization International Crisis Group. He has cooperated with AMO since September 2015. He focuses his research interest on analysis of armed conflicts, Kurdish issue in the Middle East, or Islamic radicalism.
