Petr Čermák is a Research Fellow of AMO. His research focuses on politics and security in the Western Balkans region.
He received his Ph.D. in International Relations at the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University in Brno. He was a researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University in Prague. His academic research interest focuses primarily on ethnic politics in post-conflict areas of the Western Balkans. He has conducted extensive field research across the region where he investigated local dimensions of power-sharing mechanisms in ethnically diverse areas.
Petr had an opportunity to study and conduct his research at universities in Sarajevo, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Graz, and Tirana. Besides his academic activities, he has been engaged in international think tank research projects dealing with the Western Balkan region and its political dynamics.
