Filip Sommer is an analyst for the Middle East at the AMO.
Filip is a graduate of the master’s degree in Regional and Political Geography at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. Filip is currently studying for a Ph.D. with a focus on regional and political geography, especially the Middle East, focusing on Kurdish policy and the region of Syria and Iraq.
He is also currently a Visiting Researcher at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) as part of the Institute of Regional and International Studies (IRIS). He has been working at AMO since January 2019, when he started as an intern.
