Association for International Affairs in cooperation with American Center Prague holds a panel discussion on “U.S. after Mid-term Elections: The Change We Don’t Want to Believe in?” Papers will be delivered by Kryštof Kozák of the Institute of International Studies at Charles University and Vít Pohanka, Correspondent of the Czech Radio in the USA (via VTC). Moderator will be Tomáš Karásek from the Association for International Affairs.
Recent U.S. mid-term elections brought a landslide victory for the Republicans, making the future of President Obama’s reform agenda uncertain. Are we witnessing a conservative revolution, or rather a return to normality after an unusual slide towards the Democrats in 2008? Will President Obama succeed in the confrontation with opposing Congress in pursuing his reform plans? Is the Tea Party movement putting the Republicans back on track, or rather undermining their prospects among moderate voters?
