On February 3 an informal meeting on exploring Cambodia, one of Southeast Asian countries, took place in bar Krásný Ztráty. Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs scholars and students of Hradec Králové University, Thavry and Monkol presented their country and its beauties.

Students reminded attendants of Combodian King who spent several years  in Czech Republic pursuing his studies. Performed and taught willing volunteers to modern dances, highly popular in their county. Did not miss out even their interesting and captivating traditional architecture and shared valuable hints concerning most suitable period for visiting Cambodia. Furthermore, Thavry and Monkol touched also very burning topic for their nation – Pol Pot regime and its consequences. Apart from history they paid attention to their culture, customs, traditional clothing and popular Cambodian cuisine. Finishing their presentation, Thavry and Monkol attempted to explain basics of Khmer language and teach audience simple phrases

At the end of the meeting many questions were put concerning not only Cambodia as a country but also student’s stay in Czech Republic.
