We have the pleasure to introduce the special issue 9/2009 of the Newsletter of the European Program of our Research Centre which is devoted to the topic of enlargement of the European Union. In this issue, the authors from the Association focus among others on the evaluation of the 5 years membership of the Czech republic, thorny path of Balkan states towards the accession and contemporary political will in the EU regarding further enlargement.
