The Kremlin’s Shadow Over Belgrade

The influence of Moscow in Serbia today is primarily the result of three factors: the status of Kosovo, Serbia's energy dependence, and the majority pro-Russian orientation of the public, even after the aggression against Ukraine.
This aligns with the activities of (pro-)Russian media. According to reports, Serbia is one of the few European countries that has allowed Russian state media (Sputnik, RT – Russia Today) to operate on its territory. Additionally, some of Serbia’s most-watched national TV stations, such as TV Happy, broadcast specialized daily programs that serve Russian propaganda.
