Members of the Network of Women in Czech Foreign Policy met with the EU Ambassador to Iceland
On 29 April, members of the Network of Women in Czech Foreign Policy discussed the position and representation of women in the European Diplomatic Service (EEAS), as well as the development of European diplomacy in general, with the EU Ambassador to Iceland, HE Lucie Samcova-Hall Allen.
Ambassador Samcova-Hall Allen is only the fifth person from the Czech Republic to hold the position of EU ambassador, having been working in the EU institutions since 2005.
The debate focused not only on the work of the European diplomatic service and the role of the EU ambassador, but also on the representation of Czechs and particularly Czech women in the EU institutions and on the importance of support from national governments in this regard. The Ambassador also focused on issues related to gender equality and gave an overview of Iceland’s policy in this area.
