Martin Kastler is a politician of the CSU party and Director of the Czech Office of the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung.
In 2009 he has been elected as a Member of the European Parliament (EPP). He gained his experience in the field of European policy as an employee in the Foreign Policy Department of the President of the Czech Republic. Thereafter, he held a position of a press spokesman for the Nuremberg Metropole region. Before being elected to the European Parliament, he was head of the Development Policy Department and Coordinator for EU-Projects for the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung. He studied History and Political Science in Erlangen and Prague.
